I hope they managed to portray a slower way of life, even during the war!

The best re-enactment groups don't just dress in accurate clothing and have
the right accessories, they research into other ways of living, even how to
walk and talk appropriately.

We took part in a multi-period wedding (Ancient Greek to WWII) and from the
ceremony we had to follow the WWII car to the museum for photographs (it was
all being televised).

Trying to follow a camouflaged vehicle through unknown and very busy
Rotherham roads on a Saturday afternoon wasn't easy - but the vehicle was
genuine and was driven at an appropriate stately pace. The long tail-back
wasn't popular.

It was an even longer tail-back behind the Victorian coach bearing bride and
groom but they were highly visible and popular.
