Default Water Butt Pressure

Hi folks, I'm a university student doing some research, hopefully some
of you can help!

I'm simply intrested in the gardener's opinion of a pressurised water
butt? The idea is that any collected water could easily be put under
pressure, allowing use with a hose, much like the output from a garden
tap.

How much pressure do you want? You get almost 1/2 psi per foot of
elevation for free. 1 or 2 psi is enough to deliver the water thru a
hose at low volume for flooding an area.

Don't forget about the possibility of using a booster pump if you want
to supply a sprinkler.

Pressurizing a large container that wasn't designed to hold pressure
usually doesn't work very well unless you can keep the pressure down to,
say, 5 psi.
