Er, some mistake, shirley? Beaufort 5 isn't more than a strong wind,
even in sheltered parts of the UK.

Eggsactly.

Sorry - double take there. I read big gale/storm and didn't register the
Beaufort 5. That's just about enough to get a yacht moving! What's going
on, Martin?

There seem to be two groups doing the forecast and no coordination. The ones
who
do the written description of what's coming next seem to get it right, the
ones
that do the pretty diagrams and the tabulated min max rain and wind get it
consistently wrong.

And the man with the seaweed? Tonight, here, the wind has dropped and the
rain is still hitting the windows. It's cold but not quite as bitter as it
was.
