Default To remove hips or not?

p.s. Please ignore the bit about future flower production. A really dumb
question. Logically they cannot influence the future flower production *on*
the plant...I was having a brain blip; it must be Monday. My way of thinking
was that if the production of rose-hips signals the plant to shut down for
winter, etc. I guess I was getting too complicated for my own good. Sorry
g ... Noddy.

I always wondered about that, so thanks for clearing it up. It looks

really
attractive as it is always quite smothered with hips. I've never pruned

it
though, so I suppose they will eventually dry up and fall off. Does it
effect future flower production if they stay on? There are four to six

large
berries clustered at the tip of each branch. Sorry, to ask such dumb
questions, but I've never seen this question in a rose book? ... Noddy
