The gales have started, you should hear it roaring, we moved our cars

Not roaring here but the wind is building, gusts down the chimneys etc.
Nasty forecasts but not as bad for us as it will be for many. *;-(

what happened to the blizzards that were forecast for this evening? My kids
both
live in areas where heavy snow was forecast. All they got this evening was
heavy
rain.

We got the gales, I woke at around 2a.m. the house, which is very
solid and made of stone, shook. I love lying in bed listening to rain
driving down and the wind, but the gales can unsettle me as I worry
abut trees coming down. Today it has blown itself out but the sky is
full of snow!

We had torrential rain F7 NNE 1.8C and the webcam makes me feel seasick

Well, today is sunny with wind and a bright blue sky - for the moment!
Clouds are piling up from the horizon, so goodness knows what's coming our
way. I'm wondering if Val is doing okay given that there were severe
weather warnings in her area and of course, everyone else who has been
battered by storms, gales, rain and snow.
