I grow Painted Lady (up the side of a garage in Reading) and the only
fault I've found's the shape of the flowers.

They're even herbaceous in a reasonably mild winter. I'm waiting to see
if the roots survived last winter, though I've sown some seed too.

With all Runner Beans, if you treat the roots like Dahlias, dig them up and
store them over winter, they will grow again. Left in the ground a hard
winter will kill them. We have tried Painted Lady in the past but found them
course compared to, say, White Lady or Fergie.
