We have had good luck with Big Max pumpkins, although it depends upon
what you mean by "super-big." The Big Max pumpkins will get up to 100
or 150 pounds (or maybe bigger under the right growing conditions; we
live in Wisconsin, so we have a shorter growing season). My husband
tried the Atlantic Giants one year (they will grow much bigger than
Big Max), but only a few days after he carved one of the Atlantic
Giants for Halloween, it fell apart and collapsed in on itself. The
Big Max pumpkins hold up very well for a long time, either carved or
not carved.
