I can recommend Sunburst. It will grow from container size to tree size in
ten years but remains manageable. The spring colour is great but the autumn
colour is brief. The flowers are insignificant as well. It is thornless in
contrast to the parent species which has vicious spines.

I think we would have to buy one a reasonable size as we are getting on in years and don't think we can wait ten years!!!
