Needs a cool, even cold, spell to make a good head so hope it's not
too warm.
Ours is usually ready out on the allotment about June time, depends
on the season. It's ready when the leaves start to die back, don't
leave it too long or the head will open up ready for growing again.

Yep, window sill is not good. Put it outdoors. Mine on my allotment are
about 6"........open to all weather.
