Being an over enthusiastic new gardener I sowed two packets of tomoto

how many plants can one 10 litre pot take?
One.would be good. If you have more each will be smaller due to
competition. You could plant out two in case one doesn't take and if they
both grow well remove one.

Farida,
Listen to David.
We don't grow tomatoes to harvest, in pots but we do start our own to be
planted outdoors. Your question suggests that you may need more
information than you requested.
If you already have the following covered or it doesn't apply, ignore
it.
In between seedling stage-initial culling and planting out, we transpot
as necessary to 3 inch and then 4 inch pots, and if the cold drags on
longer than usual, still larger pots; treating the tomatoes as we would
regular potted plants that increase in size and requirement.
By the time we plant out, the number is considerably reduced.
Any extras get sold, given away, or composted.
