Default Bess & Water Lilies

In addition to my 3,000 gallon pond, I have a hive of honey bees. My
pond gets partial sun so my selection of water lilies is limited but
some do grow well - Virginalis, Texas Dawn, Cherokee (dwarf). I've tried
a James Brydon (sp) but the Koi always end up rooting it out of the
planting container. Anyway, the water lilies that do bloom are very
fragrant and have lots of pollen but the bees show no interest.

Has anyone noted flowering plants in your pond visited by the honeybee?

Not Bess, in particular ,g, but there are smaller bees that visit my
water lillies. [which won't blossom for another month or so]

We have had a real shortage of honey bees in this area, so not seeing
them on the lillies is no surprise.

Here's a photo of 8 honeybees on a lilly-
