I used Aldi seed compost this year, and haven't noticed any more
germination problems than usual.

I have had terrible trouble this year and I was using JI compost which is
supposedly good! Erratic germination, slow, sometimes not at all, like my
tomatoes. Oh well, you pays your money and takes your chance.
