hello,
would it be a good time now to take out my strawberries' offspring&
replant
them elsewhere? or would waiting for spring perhaps be a better bet?

the last time i moved strawberries i did it in very late winter, but i
think
this was not a good idea as they seemed fine at first, but most of them
subsequently died over the summer. i suppose they were unable to settle
in
properly at that time as it wasn't warm yet to help them settle in, but
equally they didn't have time to establish themselves before the warm
(and
dry) weather arrived - but really, i'm not sure why they mostly died as
they
did get water& all.might have just been bad luck perhaps.

when i actually put them in in the first place, it was spring, so maybe
spring works well..? but i thought that if now is a good time, then
they;d
be able to fruit in spring, with luck!!

strawberries generally like it here, i have acid soil although it is
heavy.
the winters are pretty cold though - we get frost to minus 6 not as
uncommonly as i would like (which hasn't started yet) but such weather
will
be coming soon& i'm not sure how a recently-moved small strawberry would
feel about that.

thanks!
