Default Garden netting and trapped birds

I've used green garden netting for many years without getting a bird
trapped in it. Bought some black netting last week and just had to
rescue a young song thrush that had got hopelessly tangled in it. My
guess is that green netting is visible against bare earth and puts birds
off from landing on it. This black netting is nearly invisible against
bare earth.

It took a few minutes to untangle the bird and some pecked fingers and a
hole in my new net, but we managed to cut the bird out and it flew away
seemingly unharmed.

So perhaps best to buy green garden netting not black.
