Anyway, they all came from "new" potatoes so I at least presume they are
all meant to be earlies. But I'm sort of dithering about when to harvest
them. Should I take the plunge and dig up a plant now? Thing is, the
mystery pinks, there are only six plants, so I don't want to waste any.

According to the weather etc they should be ready 10 to 12 weeks after
planting. If you can't remember or didn't write it down try scraping the
earth from around one to see if there is anything worth digging up. That is
if you can scrape the soil away.
