Default Rabbit proof fence

The e-mail came this afternoon. The contractor has signified his
intention of having the rabbit proof fencing erected around the
allotment site within three weeks.

At last! I can't afford to erect my own fence around my plot, and I
tried to secure it with plastic netting. The rabbits demonstrated the
ease with which they can chew their way through plastic netting and
wiped out my runner beans, my peas and two rows of summer cabbage.

Well, hopefully that will be the end of it. I will soon be able to
plant out again with the possible harvesting of vegetables in the not
too distant future and the planting of the bottom section of my plot
with fruit this autumn.

Now bring on some rain.

You are very fortunate that your Council would pay for that, ours wouldn't.
But are they going to remove all the rabbits on your site after the fence in
erected otherwise you are fencing them in, and how about the gate into the
site, I've heard of a self managed site that got Rabbit Fencing put around
the site but forgot about the opening under the gate.
