I have a Cordyline in my front North facing garden, i am stripping dying
leaves off weekly and is getting smaller at the top, on the other hand i
have lots of shoot arriving from the bottom attached to the trunk, do i
leave the shoots alone or cut them off to repot and is the top dying and
do i need to cut the trunk down in the hope it will reshoot at the cut
off point. I have included some pics and hope the wealth of knowlege

I let the dead leaves fall of naturally which they are doing alarmingly at
the moment. Your plant looks healthy to me if a little thin and drawn in the
trunk, don't keep removing brown leaves, they provide the plant with some
weather protection especially in winter. Never had them sprout from the base
whilst the original plant lived though, had that happen from roots left when
one was cut down. They are that hard to kill!
Eventually it will flower and at that point the crown will start to form.
The only thing that concerns me with your plant is that you say the garden
is N. facing. These plants are sun worshipers, I do hope you didn't plant it
in a shady spot.
BTW most UK gardeners are on the newsgroup uk.rec.gardening and although
it's a non-binary group you could use Gardenbanter's own photo system for
posting a link as I see you used their web portal to access this newsgroup.
