I've decided to declare my support for the BBC and against the Daily Mail by
wearing my poppy now instead of finally remembering to buy one on 10th.

I'm not that aggressive, I content myself by turning all the top copies
of the Daily Mail over on the news stand so that the back page shows.

I am amused at the idea of minor sabotage of a newsagent being considered
'less aggressive' than wearing a paper+plastic flower. Which I've managed
already to lose. Dammit!

Get another and use a safety pin to hold it in place.

I sometimes buy one of the poppies attached to a cross and when the
weather is suitable I take a walk up from the Snake pass to the B29
wreckage on Higher Shelf Stones and plant it there amongst the many
tributes to the 13 US Airmen who died there in 1948.

I missed the long dry spell this summer, so I haven't planted my 2009
cross yet, but there are two of mine up there still (I hope). :-)
