But it does have a decent killfile feature and so doesn't really
need 'filtering'. A few clicks and the problem posters disappear
forever if you so desire.

Outlook Express's killfile is very limited. Trying to killfile spammers
by blocking names is ineffective because they only use the name once.

Well I've had no junk posts today but 2 bits of junk yesterday. I k'fed them
without reading. I dont' find that a trial given how much a surf the net.
The junk disappears after only a short time of kfing.

The best you could do is to try to write complicated rules that block
certain words in the subject like "shoes", "viagra", etc. You'd still
probably miss most of it.

I just kf by poster and have never bothered with filtering. I don't find
that to be a bother so am wondering what I'm supposed to be missing out on
by running Microsoft.

Hmmm. I didn't see any of that stuff, how come you did? All I
see from her is exactly what shows right after the colon:

The usenet standard is text only, and html is a detriment and is
discouraged.

Yes I know that, but I was wondering why you see it and I can't. Is it
because I have set Outlook Express up so that I only see and can only send
text only?

I use a text-only reader, and it doesn't hide that useless
html code that Outlook Express apparently does. If you look at the
message source you will see it all.

Yes I know how to do a Properties check and see all the bumpf stuff, but was
wondering why you see it and I don't. I am a clutz at techie stuff and try
to learn about ti as and where I can. I have some doubts about learning
anything though.
