Default Alan Titchmarsh's new television programme

Alan Titchmarsh's new gardening lifestyle television programme is
looking for industry backing to help it find locations and products.

The magazine-format series will broadcast at 7.30pm on Fridays from
June on ITV. Executive producer is Spun Gold's Matt Young.

The Aquatic & Leisure Industry Co-operative (ALIC), which recently
made a plea to the garden industry to raise £500,000 by subscription
to return gardening to mainstream TV, has been in discussions with
Spun Gold to assist the production team with contacts and products
from across the garden industry.

ALIC founder Richard Abell of Western Marketing Management said: "Spun
Gold wants us to supply contacts and knowledge. It is looking for
locations to film - garden centres - and related products for the
programme.

"Alan will go round different types of gardens and at the end there
will be a section that shows where you can buy highlighted parts.
There may be commercial opportunities for people to do something with
this but there has to be a lot of further discussion because ALIC is
not properly founded yet."

Garden & Leisure operations director Carol Paris told the recent
Garden Centre Association conference that ALIC could use industry
money to bring back a Groundforce effect to the gardening industry by
paying for part of programme's production costs.
