T&M never have an "unsubscribe" link on their e-mails which more
responsible companies do.

That is not true. Whether the unsubscribe link works or not is
another matter, but all the T&M emails I have have unsubscribe
links on them.

Well, you're lucky because mine haven't, because I have specially looked
because I receive far too many of them!

I have 8 T&M emails in my inbox, older ones have been deleted.
Every one has an unsubscribe link. Right hand side, near the
bottom.

Noticeably absent in the e-mails I have received from them.

So some of yours don't work?

I don't find their emails a problem, so I hadn't tried to
unsubscribe. I just clicked it and got the message "Thank you, you
are now unsubscribed." Simple. I am going to resubscribe now.

Good for you.

Hmmm! Occasionally I just whack my entire inbox into an archive folder
rather than check it through and "zap the crap". A simple search shows
up T&M emails going back to 2009. I've checked a few and every one has
an unsubscribe link at the bottom right. And even in the 2009 ones,
the link is to the same URL as in an email received today.

I wonder if T&M are being nice to those who actually buy from them but
are out to pester to the end those who don't.

I suspect that Malcolm is prolly viewing T&M emails in plain text,
in which case the word 'unsubscribe' is not viewable. Obviously
this is a mistake on T&M's part rather than a deliberate ploy to
prevent newsletter subscribers from unsubscribing. The link right
at the bottom of T&M emails in plain text format is the unsubscribe
one. Not so hard to work out as it contains the word 'optOut'.
