Just about got to F9 (upper 40's mph sustained) an hour or so ago,
eased a bit now only an energetic F7 (mid 30's mph sustained). A few
gusts above 50 mph.

I do hate it when it keeps on blowing like this!

We get fed up with the noise when it stays above F7 for more than
24hrs. Anything less than F5 (20 mph sustained) doesn't make any
noise and we don't consider F5 "windy", though vistors will nearly
always comment.
