Hello Paddy
I came across this picture on the news group and was quite enthralled

Can you please tell what its name is and its growing conditions

Also is it an annual or perennial

I live in Southern California. I'm not sure what our Zone Number would be
but you can probably look it up on google. My unofficial assessment of our
local year-round weather would be that it almost never freezes and then only
briefly. Late July, August, and September can get pretty hot (90 deg F or
even a little over 100 deg F). Annual rainfall is approx 14 inches.

As far as the name of the plant is concerned it is referred to
unscientifically as a Tea Tree although I'm not sure why. Maybe the leaves
can be dried and brewed into a tea. I do not know the scientific name.
It's a pretty hardy plant and bears leaves all year long but only blooms in
spring and early summer.

Sorry I can't be more definitive.
