This flower may be unfamiliar to the Western ppl, but among the Asians
it is popular.
It's a 'scarlet Kaffir lily' (one of orchid species).
If you've ever watch the picture of an anual meeting of Chinsese
Congress,
You will notice tons of them are placed here and there in the hall.
They so love red color.


It is very common over here, often seen in National Trust houses and similar
as specimen plants and small plants are always available in most Garden
Centres. It is true that the yellow flowered ones are rarely seen . It is
not an orchid.
