Curly beans
In article ,
says...
I watched something on iplayer recently about carbon footprinting and
French beans grown in Kenya. They reject anything that is not straight
because Asda, who they supply to, demand all French beans are straight. The
consumer obviously demands this too. Why? No idea. What a waste.
I doubt if the consumer has been consulted properly. If you show the
"person in the street" a plate on straight and a plate of curly beans
and ask which they prefer, you would almost always get straight as an
answer.
If you told them that they taste the same, and the curly ones are
cheaper, they'll prefer curly!
DONT tell the EU anything!!!!!!!!!!!
