Default Jemmer (yellow) courgettes

In article ,
says...

Has anyone had any success with these? I always fancied yellow courgettes,
and every year the plants have been munched before they got out. This year
I /finally/ got 3 good plants out. But the fruit is ... disappointing.
It doesn't bulk out until it's really long, then it goes tough. And once
it's picked it has no shelf-life at all, even in the fridge, they just go
brown and a bit yucky.

I was about to ask a similar question. I've grown one for the first time
this year and had the same problems as you. I've also noticed that there
does not seem to be any male flowers on the plant, so was wondering if
that was the cause?
