Default Jemmer (yellow) courgettes

Vicky wrote ...

Has anyone had any success with these? I always fancied yellow courgettes,
and every year the plants have been munched before they got out. This year
I /finally/ got 3 good plants out. But the fruit is ... disappointing.
It doesn't bulk out until it's really long, then it goes tough. And once
it's picked it has no shelf-life at all, even in the fridge, they just go
brown and a bit yucky.

There is an article on Courgettes in this months (actually September 2011!)
copy of The Garden from the RHS. The writer recommends the following yellow
ones...
Buckingham F1 from Suttons; Mr Fothergills, Plants of Distinction
Floridor F1 (round) from D T Brown, Mr Fothergill
Gold Rush F1 from Seeds of Italy
One Ball (round with green star on end) from Dobies, Sutton, Plants of
Distinction
Soleil F1. from Suttons, Plants of Distinction.

From reading the article we will probably be growing the last one next year.
