An excellent presentation by Michael Portillo.

Yes, he does a quiet relaxed presenting job which suits the subject
and he has that happy knack of being able to talk to anyone. A friend
of ours, who would never vote anything but Labour, said after watching
the first series that had he still been in Parliament she would have
voted for him. Praise indeed, believe me.

I've always enjoyed those railway journey programmes whenever I've seen
any of them by chance, but I managed to miss all but the very tail end
of this latest one about Yarmouth to Beccles etc. Hope they repeat it.

Have you seen him on 'This Week', the political late night show with
Andrew Neil?
Portillo seems to talk a remarkable amount of sense on most topics they
cover, even though I don't always agree with him. While I'd never vote
for them, I've come to think he's probably the best leader the 'Nasty
Party' never had. More fool them for not voting for him when they had
the chance.
