Ex RAF erks will be interested to know that this year's massive parade at
RAF Cosford with the RAF Band on Sunday 20th May, will, subject to the
weather, have a fly past of the Avro Vulcan Bomber. It is due at Alrewas
Forces Memorial during the unveiling of the Falkland's Memorial at 12.45
and
it is being diverted to the RAF Cosford parade either 3 minutes before on
its way there, or 3 minutes later on its way back.

At 1300, the Battle of Britain Lancaster Bomber will give not just a fly
past, but a display as well.

Family Day which is free details

Chief of the Air Staff or his 2nd in command is the Reviewing Officer.

I will be with the Commanding Officer of RAF Cosford, but would be
pleased
to meet any urglers or Gardenbanter subscribers and my wife would be
pleased
to talk gardening. (There, that's brought it on topic)

Doesn't sound to be open to the public?

Certainly is. And it's free. Special celebration because it's 10 years now
since the Association was formed and using RAF Cosford's facilities.

And if you bring your own picnic you can be cheeky and use the tables and
benches outside the museum and it will cost you nothing. Even the museum is
free, but a contribution would be welcomed by the staff. No car parking
charges. No charge to see the fly past. Central Band of the RAF ..... free

Come and have a chat. ....... *I will be busy but would never send you away
because 'I am too busy'.

However, I do have to be away quite pronto as I it looks as if I have a
Royal Navy H.M.Ship's Association Committee meeting in Dudley later in the
afternoon ;-) (About 4.00pm I think. Not yet confirmed)

I wonder if you will also be providing details of the ex Army service
association you help to run? As an ex member of the RN reserve, I
wonder what you have to say to real ex service people when asked where
you used to serve.............bearing in mind your talents for telling
the truth, would be amusing to hear your answer to that
question.............lol
