Ex RAF erks will be interested to know that this year's massive parade at
RAF Cosford with the RAF Band on Sunday 20th May, will, subject to the
weather, have a fly past of the Avro Vulcan Bomber. It is due at Alrewas
Forces Memorial during the unveiling of the Falkland's Memorial at 12.45
and it is being diverted to the RAF Cosford parade either 3 minutes
before on its way there, or 3 minutes later on its way back.

At 1300, the Battle of Britain Lancaster Bomber will give not just a fly
past, but a display as well.

I'd love to go Mike, but it's a fair old hike. I didn't know there was
still a Vulcan flying. I know one was got up and flyng again but I thought
it was grounded for lack of maintenance funds? Next to Concord, must be
the most amazing plane.

Well I have just had words with the Treasurer and yes the Vulcan is flying
and furthermore, is not costing us anything, so what I have suggested is
that they do a detour on the way up to Alrewas AND on the way back and that
the Collecting Buckets will be out and about ;-)

With a couple of thousand people there, there should be a good collection.

(The Lancaster is costing £1000.00 plus £300.00 Insurance for a display if
anyone is interested)
