I use them all the time, they adjust for radius 1-360 degrees and come in 10
, 12 , 15 and 17 foot distance rates, that can be fine tuned to less throw.
They also make some that spray a square pattern. These heads are what the
pros use.

I am about to (re)install sprinklers in small area 32x15x33x8. It's

How important is head to head coverage in a area this small?
How many sprinklers should water a given area? Right now it ranges from
2-4,
with more coverage in the middle than the sides. It looks terrible to me
on
paper, but I don't know how much it matters in this small area. I am
using
Rainbird 1804 pop up heads. The spray nozzles are 12 ft.

What's in the area? Lawn? If so, I'd put 3-4 heads through the middle
spraying
full circles and water deeply once a week and not worry about the patio.

Otherwise, It's difficult to get good even coverage in an irregular shaped
area
with heads designed for specific sizes and shapes only.
