From time to time we get given little pots with miniature roses in -
normally about 4 to a pot.
They tend to be left outside in the original pot and some survive and
others don't.
Has anyone had success in transplanting these roses to larger pots for a
long term display, or planting them out in borders?
I don't recall seeing miniature roses in flower borders but if they
survive outside in the original pot they should grow in borders, I assume?
I have one in my garden that has survived for four years now, so it is
possible.
I planted two out about 15 years ago. One is still going strong and is
about a foot and a half high and a foot across. I only ever prune any
dead step tips off and deadhead it, otherwise leave it alone.
The second died fairly quickly.
Cheers, Jake
