Here (South Wales), still loads of choice of veg stuff on sale in the
garden centres though the DIY places and nurseries seem to have sold
out.

I've had *potato* tops chewed off. I thought they were indestructible!

Any idea what's doing it? Slugs or woodpigeons?

Probably God paying you back for using gardanbanter instead of using the
newsgroup.
