I'm not altogether convinced that 'hero' is an appropriate description.
Great books though (well, 1 and 2 in particular). Must dig them out and
re-read after *cough*ty years...

The third (completed post-humously by someone else, iirc) was awful.
The ending was one of the worst endings to a book ever.
