ALDI do cheap reasonable external DVD players (rewriters) or you could
buy one from Maplin, Amazon, Dabs or PCW. They are all much of a
muchness now - a few complete dogs but look for 4 or 5 * reviews.
Maplin has Samsung ext slimline on offer for £35 at the moment.
For playback the cheapest one will do - you might better off with one
that has buffer underrun protection if you intend to burn DVDs.
If you are asking about software the VideoLan VLC is as good as anything

That won't help if your internal drive can't read a DVD!
