I'm glad you are able to look at it in that way. I know you've had
some awful flood problems, sewerage and all. I do hope this winter
isn't going to mean more misery for you. Fingers crossed.
Thankyou, Spider.
Fingers crossed or all 8 legs? How many toes is that again?
Baz
You're welcome.
If a spider has its full complement of 8 legs, then it will have 8 toes
(tarsal tips). However, at the end of each tarsal tip are either 2 or 3
tarsal claws (depending on spider species). Therefore, there could be
16 or 24 tarsal claws used for gripping stratum.
Naturally, for you, I crossed all my tarsal claws! :~))
Imagine.... a pedicure. Be there all f'n week. A new hairdo while u wait. No wonder some
tarantulas throw their hair off. I can understand why now, if the hairdresser is as bad as mine.
A bit of moisteuriser on the exoskeleton sir/madam? Helps you shed it! Nah, just wax me legs.
Something for the weekend then? We have some nice new lines in venom, I sold a batch to that
Funnel Web charecter just the other day.. A cup of liquidised insect perhaps? It is all nicely
wrapped up in silk, the way you like it! ...etc.
Baz
LOL! I think I'll have the liquidised insect, thank you! As for all
that other malarkey, I'll stick to shedding my skin once in a while.
Saves all that 'poodle parlour' nonsense. Mind you, I have to wait for
my fangs to harden afterwards .. that can be tricky.
In this household, spiderspeak is taken (almost) seriously. When RG
startles me by his sudden appearance, I usually jump out of my skin
which sets off spidery talk. We even say 'pardosa' instead of pardon ..
though not in polite company!
