Yes - you can filter out by author, date, subject, etc.
You can also filter on things you _want_ to see, such as posts by
certain people, or threads in which you have participated.
Now that my niece doesn't no longer lives in Beijing, I've blocked
any posts with Chinese addresses.
Anything with the words 'cheap watches' gets binned, too.
extend that to anything with "cheap"
I think that might be a mistake. People do sometimes post about cheap
plants/seeds/tools etc.
