Default Cladrastic kentuckea (Yellowood)

I was wondering why Cladrastis kentuckea (C. lutea) seems to be so rare
in the UK. Anyone got it in their garden or knows someone who has it?
Why isn't it as popular as Laburnum or Wisteria? Should be hardy enough.

There are a few nurseries selling it in the UK, but not that many, and
it is fairly expensive.
