Default Which looks better (longer or deeper)?

In my upcoming planted tank I'm gonna be dividing the tank into the
main area and a sump of some sort that will be part of the main tank.
The tank itself is 50G (36" * 18" * 19" high). The sump will occupy
10G of that. I'm wondering which configuration would look nicer from
an aquascaping point of view

sump on the right side of the tank so that the main tank would end up
being 28" * 18" * 19" high

or

sump at the back of the tank so that the main tank would end up being
36" * 14.5" * 19" high

or

a cross between the two with the sump at the back of the tank and also
in the back right corner; the tank would then be 36" * 16" * 19" high
minus a piece 8" * 8" in the back right corner.

Just looking for input on ease of aquascaping each idea, since I've
never before had a planted tank.

Thanks,
Harry

P.S. Unfortunately a seperate sump is out of the question, and I'm
set on having some kind of sump.

I would do the corner idea.. Can you make it rounded? Put some cork
over it, and you've got yourself a tree stump in the back of your tank
