Default Charming Rockery plant

About 15 years ago I bought this charming little plant in a 3 inch pot,
"suitable for the rockery" the label said.

Well 15 years on it has taken over the plot it is in, this picture
shows around one sixth of the clump, it has been sprayed around the
edges to try to contain it.

It's a lovely plant to have under bushes, but it won't stay there, it's a thug.
It's name?
I don't know, it devoured the label many years ago.
David @ the sunny side of Swansea Bay.
PS

This is another that's going a bomb this spring.

Sounds like Polygonum Pink Bubbles. We have it all over the place, just
as you describe! It gets into crevices in the greenhouses too. I
rather like it but it's definitely very determined!
