The Magpies and the Crows have been having something of a turf war

Talking of which, the (abundent) Starlings have been busy aerating my
lawn. That means a bad year for Crane Flies.

Slug numbers are down this year but we seem to have an issue with
snails that want to climb. Unlike my Peas or Beans, both of which
seem to have Vertigo. That garden twine comes in handy to encourage
them.

Interesting inasmuch as I have a dearth of slugs also. OTOH, I have
placed around the garden several small plastic tubs with tops that
"roll over". And each morning I run a finger around the top under that
roll-over bit and the droppings go into my salt water bucket. Snails
seem to like climbing, as I have commented here in the past.
