Anybody any advice on pruning a black mulberry?

Ours is now 15ft across and over 15ft high - a very heavy crop this year
but more than half of it is out of reach.

I was in Crete earlier this year and it looked like the locals had
prunned their mulberries very agressivly with a large saw!

I was always told that you spread a sheet under the tree and shook of
the ripe berries
I find that there is no connection between the ripening process and the falling off process, although at the end of the season the proportion of fallen berries which are ripe is considerably greater than at the beginning of the season. I let them fall then pick them up from the ground - if I try picking from the tree, no matter how careful I am, I always dislodge two or three unripe ones for every ripe one I pick.

As to pruning - I have lifted the crown of mine. I seem to remember that it was liable to bleed, so important to do the pruning in the dormant season.
