I have collected a few seeds from a Hemerocallis seed pod and intend to
try germinating them. Having heard Carol Kleine recently say that
Hemerocallis tend to be sterile, I'm wondering if they're viable. Only
one way to find out.

I've read mixed guidelines about sowing them. The only constant seems
to be that they should be sown 1/2" deep and kept cool and moist. Has
anyone else on urg tried to grow Hemerocallis from seed? If so, how did
you get on?

There's recently been a thread about Pollie's Day Lilies. If you visit
her site (http://www.polliesdaylilies.co.uk/?) you'll find loads of
references to seedlings, hybridisation (which is going to be a seed
producing thing) and so on.

IME, Pollie is a real day lily enthusiast and goes out of her way to
be helpful. If no-one in the group answers your question, you could
try dropping her an email (link on her site)

Thanks so much for that link, Jake. I'll check it out; it sounds most
promising. I missed the earlier thread as I've had a weeks holiday and
hardly had the laptop on since. I'll see if I can find it.
