No. Ray shelled them and the actual nut is white!

We had a large walnut tree in our garden, when I was child. It's
removing the green outer layer that covers the shell that turns
fingers brown.

I'll get Ray to hold his hands out for inspection! ;-)

While you are checking that his finger nails are clean :-)

Plus the back of his ears and that he has a clean hanky! ;-) Last time
he went for a hair cut, it was so long that I told him to get an
estimate!
