Here overlooking Swansea Bay it's been a rough old day, strong gusts of
wind all day but stronger this afternoon and evening the wind has been
gusting to over 60mph for the last 5 hours with 63mph, 72, 75, 66. 68
and just in the last hour 81mph.
Swansea and Cardiff must be glad that their match is tomorrow.

Can't measure wind speed here - gusts that were strong enough to force
the tops of trees almost horizontal blew one sufficiently over to
knock the weather station off its mounting. So far, everything else
seems to be standing here though there's a lot of damage in Bridgend
(Princess of Wales Hospital roof damaged, a number of trees blown
down) and, I'm told, further east towards Cardiff. Haven't checked
things to the west yet.

It looks as if the Mumbles recorded the strongest winds along the south
coast of Wales, The last hour has seen the gusts down to 71 mph.
