FRIENDS OF THE EARTH PRESS RELEASE
UK STANDS ALONE IN OPPOSING EURO GM LABELLING PLANS -
UK BACKS BIOTECH INDUSTRY OVER CONSUMERS ONCE AGAIN
I have always been in favor of labeling because I belive in the
consumer's right to know. But given that Friends of the Earth favors
labeling, I may well rethink my position.
given the level of contamination FOE are insisting on testing for, and
the demand for labelling of products derived from GM virtually
everything is going to end up labelled. Just as manufacturers tend to
cover their backs, labelling most things "may contain nuts" so they will
all cover their backs with "may contain gm".
I honestly don't think it will make any difference.
