You can eat them but it is certainly not advisable. They do contain a
reasonably potent toxic alkaloid called lycorin. I don't think it is
quite as deadly as some of its neighbours in this online guide.

It is mainly a problem if you mistake daffodil bulbs for onions.
Quite a few members of Amaryllidaceae express the same toxin to a
greater or lesser extent.
