I have to use a hedge cutter.

I used to use a goat or two (or more), and they were generally quite
quiet, but needed a strong lead.

They were better in that neither petrol nor eclectic mowers give you milk.

But it's a bugger having to lift them up to do the top of the hedge

Goats are natural climbers and leapers.
