Q: Makha Wood = Mahogany??
When I traveled through Thailand I found some furniture made in Makha
Wood. Locals claim that Makha is a local name for Mahogany wood. Is this correct? To the best of my knowledge the Makha wood is being brought to Thailand from Burma. Any information would be highly appreciated. Thank you, Chris |

Makha Wood = Mahogany??
Does it matter?
Since "mahogany" is one of the few wood names to make it to universal fame there is no accounting for the number of woods sold under this name. So even if "makha" means "mahogany" it is quite another matter what wood it is PvR Chris schreef When I traveled through Thailand I found some furniture made in Makha Wood.
