Default brown leaves

My wife grows alex palms from seeds but the leaves keep going brown more so
than when they are planted in the ground. Is this from overwatering or the
need of more fertilizer?
Can anyone help.

I think it's more likely to be overwatering, escpecially if it starts at
the tips. Make sure they are not sitting in water and let the top of
the soil dry out before watering. Water even less over winter (more like
monthly, depending on the conditions at your place).
